Hey Guys, it's time for some POLL discussion and what better to start it off with an interesting topic that would probably affect gamers in the future. 3D Gaming! So, what do you guys think about what genre would best benefit for this type of set-up.

Things to discuss about:
*3D Motion Gaming
*Expense
*Gamers Choice
*What do you "really" think?
*How would they promote it?

I voted for Simulation (Vehicle Sim) because I guess that is counted as racing... even though I NEVER play those games, I can definitely see the technology being very beneficial to those, since they usually involve a lot of things based on depth.

Survival Horror will win the poll for the wrong reasons I think. People are probably thinking about 3D being used to pop monsters out of the screen to scare you more, but really, that does not change the game play whatsoever. It's just like it would be takin to moving from SD to HD.

I tried to look at this question in the frame of how it would best affect gameplay, not just the way things look.

I'll agree. I do think horror would benefit, but only if it's done right. True horror in movies, game, and anything else has never been about cheap jump scares. It's about atmosphere, suspense, and dread none of which can come from a split second thrill of things jumping out at you. I could be watching a Spongebob episode and if something freaky looking suddenly flashed on the screen I'd jump. Like in the youtube videos where you are told to watch closely and some freaky face pops up.

I could imagine 3D really suiting a great horror game like Fatal Frame or Dead Space, but it isn't a substitute for what actually makes a game scary because they're plenty scary and immersing without it.

This was a hard decision because all can benefit if you look at it the right way.

i really don't think any games should have 3d it's kind of dumb, but if any horror because it would actually add to the game.

Suprisingly, Call of Duty Black Ops has an ability to turn itself 3D.
